Q. What does Keepsafe need from me to move in?
A. We ask for formal photo identification, like a new style UK driver’s license or a current passport and proof of your address like a utility bill or bank statement. After your identity has been established, Keepsafe Self Storage will walk you through the self storage process. It’s so easy!
Q. What is self storage?
A. Keepsafe Storage Centres offer flexible, do-it-yourself storage for domestic and business customers. We provide clean, dry, secure, individual storage rooms. Your storage room is locked with your own padlock (a full range is sold in our reception), ensuring that only you have access to your goods. Access to your room is free and unlimited during our long opening hours, 7 days a week. However, if this is not convenient, we also offer 24hr storage rooms. Please call for further details and availability. Keepsafe self storage is a cost effective alternative to achieve any additional space requirement.
Q. How secure & private are Keepsafe Storage Centres?
A. All Keepsafe Storage Centres have security perimeter fencing and electronic access controlled gates. Our premises are well lit with 24 hr digital CCTV coverage offering state of the art security. With Keepsafe Self Storage Centres, peace of mind comes as standard. We’ll Keep it Safe.
Q. Can I store small items?
A. Costs can be less than a pound a day depending on your needs. Keepsafe Storage Centres offer a cost effective solution to meet every storage requirement.
Q. How long can I store my belongings?
A. You may store your items as long as you wish. You are billed each month in advance for as long as you use the unit. However only 14 days notice is required to vacate the unit.
Q. When can I gain access to my belongings?
A. We offer unlimited access to your belongings during our opening times so you can add and remove items as much as you need to. Access is free and if you need 24hr access we have rooms for that too.
Q. Is self storage expensive?
A. Costs can be as littles as under £1 per day. Depending on your needs, there is a cost effective solution to your additional space requirements.
Q. What are your terms?
A. We send out your invoice 18 days in advance of when your storage is due. Payment is due on the anniversary day of your initial agreement.
Q. What about insurance?
A. Unlike our competitors, Keepsafe Storage Centres include insurance cover for your goods up to a value of £5000 as standard. We can provide additional cover if required at extremely competitive rates.
Q. What about transport and moving?
A. You are responsible for transporting and moving your goods to our storage centres. We do have vans available which are free to use when moving in and can be rented from us at affordable rates at all other times.
Q. If I use the Keepsafe move in van do I pay for the fuel?
A. Yes, you will need to replace the fuel you use.
Q.How do I pay for my storage?
A. We accept all major credit cards, however the easiest form of payment is direct debit which we can help you set up at the start.
Q. Do I require insurance for the Keepsafe move in van?
A. Insurance for the use of our van is mandatory. The incidental cost of insurance is £19.50 (conditions apply).

Q. What can I store in household storage?
A. You can store virtually anything, however there are a few items which are prohibited. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: living creatures, flammable materials, firearms, toxic waste and illegal substances.
Q. What can I store in business storage?
A. Only your imagination limits your storage possibilities. Archive files, merchandise, stock and promotional material are some examples of items for which businesses use Keepsafe Storage Centres.
Q. Does Keepsafe cater for students?
A. Short-term storage is a great idea for students and Keepsafe have a variety of units so students can find the perfect size for them.
Q. What type of storage facilities do Keepsafe provide?
A. Keepsafe Storage Centres offers three basic types of storage; secure marine grade containers in a variety of sizes, purpose built solid concrete poured floors with 4-inch solid cement block units and steel indoor storage.
Q. Do you require me to pack my goods before storage?
A. Keepsafe recommends that you pack your goods in strong boxes. This makes stacking easier and avoids damage to your goods whilst also making the most of the space in the room. However, you do not need to have your goods in boxes. A dust cover is a good idea and soft furnishings should have some type of protection.
Q. Where can I get packaging material?
A. Keepsafe has a wide range of moving and packing supplies at all of our storage centres. We can also provide great tips and insight on how to get the most from your storage space.
Q. How much notice do I need to give to move out?
A. We require fourteen days written notice that you will vacate your unit. However if your plans change you can extend this period and continue paying your rental.
Q. Why should I rent a Keepsafe mailbox?
A. Dependability! There is no need to worry about misdirection of your mail. Keepsafe is open to receive your mail. Your own secure mailbox allows you to pick up your mail when its convenient for you.
Q. Do I pick up my mailbox mail?
A. Yes. During normal business hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8.30am – 1pm, your mail is available for collection FREE of charge.
